What is the Freelance Education Alliance?

The Freelance Education Alliance (FEA) is a by-invitation network of professionals championing freelance education, building on the foundations of the Freelance Education Framework as the sector’s shared blueprint for change.

FEA members believe that self-employment, freelancing and portfolio careers should be recognised, supported and celebrated as legitimate graduate destinations.

The Alliance connects people working across education, policy and industry to share knowledge, solve challenges, champion the Framework, and shape the future of freelance education.

Together, we are shaping a future where every learner has the confidence and capability to create opportunities on their own terms, every educator is equipped to prepare students for the realities of modern work, and every institution is recognised for championing all career pathways. By embedding freelance education across the sector, we are building a more resilient, innovative and inclusive future for work.

The Freelance Education Alliance exists to accelerate the advancement of freelance education by bringing together the people and organisations shaping its future. Through collaboration, shared expertise and collective influence, we champion freelancing as a recognised career pathway, strengthen support across education, and help create a system where every learner can confidently build opportunities on their own terms.

JOIN THE ALLIANCE

How to Join the Alliance

FEA membership to the Alliance is by invitation or application and carries no membership fee. Admission is carefully curated to ensure it remains a trusted community committed to advancing freelance education.

There are two ways to become a member:

❶ Member Endorsement – An existing Alliance member may recommend you for membership by posting on the WhatsApp Group or contacting one of the Alliance Ambassadors (see below).

❷ Request an Invitation – Complete a short membership application form. Each application is reviewed by the team before invitations are issued and new members are admitted.
